So lately all I seem to see over social networks, are strange videos of strange people/groups, doing zombified dancing!
Please let me introduce to you the REAL Harlem Shake...
The Harlem shake is a dance that was based on an Ethiopian dance, the "Eskista", which consists of a lot of shoulder shuffling.
It originally began in Harlem, New York, in 1981.
The inventor of the dance was "Al B", a Harlem resident, which is why the dance was originally called the "Albee", but later became known as the Harlem shake.
Al B is quoted saying that the dance is "a drunken shake, it's an alcoholic shake, but it's fantastic, everybody appreciates it." He said it comes from the Ancient Egyptians and describes it as what the mummies used to do, because they were all wrapped up they couldn’t really move, all they could do was shake.
The dance move then spread to other urban areas and became popular in music videos, such as "Let's Get It" - G. Dep, and even referred to in the popular "Dilemma" - Nelly.
Now ... The dry humping, so called dancing is a Internet meme that went viral on YouTube in February 2013.
I am not even going to go into detail on this, all I have to say is this is NOT the Harlem Shake!
I suggest next time, think of your own name for your so called dance!
